This is a browser demo of a physical device. The real unit is a Raspberry 5 on a subway platform that runs everything offline — Whisper for speech, argos-translate for the five languages, Piper for the voices — because there is no signal in a tunnel. A web page can't run those, so this demo uses your browser's speech recognition and voices, and the Featherless API for the translations and routing. Same behaviour, different engine.
